The joint Board is composed of 13 volunteer members: 3 licensed audiologists, 3 licensed hearing aid dispensers, 3 licensed speech-language pathologists, 2 licensed physicians ENT , and 2 consumer members. The Board meets on the third Thursday of every month except the month of December. Executive Session meetings are closed to the public. Review the Requirements for Board membership. Audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and speech-language pathology assistants with a license that expires on May 31, are required to renew their license to continue practicing on or after June 1, Audiologists and speech-language pathologists with a license that expires on May 31, may renew their licenses beginning April 1, The inactive status is an option with this renewal.

All individuals electing the inactive status will have. The fee funds the cost of services and information the MHCC provides to consumers and healthcare practitioners. The Board does not retain these funds. Any indivdiual whose license has been in a non-renewed status for more than five years must reapply for licensure and meet all current requirments for licensure.

The individual must submit the complete application form and all required documentation and fees. The reapplication process cannot be completed on-line. Pursuant to Education Article Licensees that meet the requirement of the foregoing should consult with their employer for more information on the reimbursement of application and license fees.

Please Note: A Limited License is valid only under the supervisor and in the employment setting stated on the license.

The new plan must be approved by the Board before the Limited License begins practicing in the new setting or under the new supervisor. The supervisor shall provide a minimum of 36 hours of supervisory activities during the clinical fellowship to include a minimum of 2 hours of on-site observation of clinical services in direct client contact and 2 hours of other monitoring activities each month.

The supervisor shall notify the Board if the supervisor withdraws from supervising a limited licensee. A supervisor is legally and ethically responsible for services provided or omitted by the Limited Licensee.
