Each drawing includes a layer named 0. Layer 0 cannot be deleted or renamed to ensure that every drawing includes at least one layer. In general, you should always create several new layers with which to organize your drawing, rather than create your entire drawing on layer 0. What is paper space used for in AutoCAD? To prepare your drawing for printing, switch to paper space.
Here you can set up different layouts with title blocks and notes; and on each layout, you create layout viewports that display different views of model space. Another very easy way is to add the paper space setting in the Status Bar from the Customization icon in the Status Bar. This setting will display the current space you are in. Message 16 of Dimensioning in model space defeats some of the purpose of using paper space. Most dimensions are created associatively, so where the model is should be of no consequence.
Message 17 of I guess I'm not getting my meaning across very well I'll try again. I prefer dimensioning in paper space over model space most of the time. However, when I do zoom in to make a pick, the pick points don't stay with the object that is zooming in. They stay where they were originally. And the dimensions don't move; they stay where they were originally.
I know this is probably not making sense; unless you are setting there seeing it happen, it's hard to understand When I opened the drawing today, for the first time, everything was normal.
I could zoom in, and the object would stay where it should, but after plotting, 2 of the 4 windows on the layout As though in model space So I tried it a second time. I closed the drawing. Reopened it. And it was back to normal. So I plotted again. Same thing I'm stumped. Some of the others in my group He seems to think I have a switch turned off or on somewhere. But who knows which one?
Message 18 of Hm, I did have a strange behavior few times in , that while zooming in PS, to a viewport, all objects in this VP where "scaling", while scrolling to stay visible at all times, It never actually change anything, just visual, I had a feeling this had to do with perspective, print setup or viewport properties, that where"accidentally" change I suggest, compare properties of your "strange" viewports to a "good ones, line by line I understand this happens after printing so Interesting anyway.
